Typhoon Wipha wipes out Wednesday's games

09/19/2007 - Shanghai, China (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - FIFA decided to move all four of Wednesday's games to Thursday based on the latest weather reports about typhoon Wipha.

FIFA originally moved the Ghana-Norway and Denmark-Brazil contests to Thursday, and kept Canada's match with Australia and China's game with New Zealand scheduled for Wednesday.

According to FIFA Women's World Cup China 2007 Regulations, the last matches in each group will be played simultaneously. However, the decision to move all four matches to Thursday could not be made until the uncertainties of the weather had been cleared up.

Once it was determined that Wipha would not interfere with any of the four games on Thursday, Wednesday's games were changed to Thursday to accommodate the rule and the wishes of the participating teams.

The Norway-Ghana match in Group C was moved from Shanghai to Hangzhou and will be played at 5 a.m. (ET), and will be followed by the Brazil-Denmark contest in Group D at 8 a.m.

The other game in Group C will also be played at 5 a.m. with Canada and Australia kicking off in Chengdu. The Group D game between New Zealand and China will begin in Tianjin at 8 a.m.
